Healthcare when you have confirmed COVID-19
Essential information from NSW Health
If you have been told (maybe by SMS or by a phone call) that you have confirmed COVID-19 or if you have done a positive Rapid Antigen Test, please make sure you read this NSW Health page. It includes information about Symptoms, Self-Isolation, who you need to contact, support services, and when you can leave self-isolation.
Should I get extra medical care to treat COVID?
Some people are at higher risk of severe disease. NSW Health is aiming to contact anyone who falls into these groups, but they may not know all of these things about you. If any of the following are true for you, please call 1800 960 933.
65+
Someone who is over 65 years old
Not fully vaccinated
Someone who has not had 2 doses of a COVID vaccine at least 2 weeks prior
Chronic health concerns
Someone who has a chronic medical condition
Pregnant
Someone who is pregnant
Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
Someone who identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
Pasifika
Someone of Pasifika background
What medical and health conditions increase risk of severe disease?
If any of the following are true for you, please call 1800 960 933 to get the right advice for you:

Chronic lung disease
Cardiovascular disease, including hypertension
Active cancer
Immunosuppression
Chronic kidney disease
Organ or Bone Marrow Transplant recipient
Diabetes
Liver disease
Significant mental health concerns
Pregnancy
Physical disability
Intellectual disability
Significant drug and alcohol dependence
Have a BMI greater than 30 in adults
A weight greater than the 95th centile for age and sex in children
